April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July, began taking guitar and piano lessons at seven years old. The passion for songwriting was awakened. at the age of 12, April came up with her first original song Different. At 14 old, she devoted an enormous amount of time creating song ideas as well as perfecting the song. She started writing songs with her dad and her dad in NY and LA soon after. April began including other topics in the book, Take My Hand, for those of her peers who struggled with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicide. Lockhart also enjoys an increasing popularity as a lifestyle influencer and works for popular Clean Beauty company Ilia. Her birthplace didn't come with a left-hand, which is the reason she's what she is. It's just not the full story. Because of this, her Instagram profile doesn't shy away from her disability, but it doesn't center around the issue neither. The profile is a statement. It's this that we all share numerous identities. We're much far more complicated than we believe we are. It's not my intention to let that define me I don't intend to become an influencer where that's all I discuss because there are so many other things about me Lockhart states in video form from her residence in Nashville. My everyday life isn't directly affected by disability. I live my normal daily life, and come up with my own solutions to problems. Because it's part of who I am It's a topic worthy of discussion. Lockhart is a true source of motivation for self-acceptance generally, is on a long road to reach it. She has had periods where she felt insecure about wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. She is able to wear anything she wants, and she proudly shares photos of her wearing these clothes. One of the keys to self-love for her is that it's not an end goal. It's a journey, I don't think you ever reach your destination. It is essential to be surrounded by people who can really know you.
