The children were sleeping in the crib as I was strapped to one of them on my back. Ha! We were getting close to completing, however the project was still a distance away. For furnishing the space would take a lot of effort both in time and money. It was also going to be a challenge go to my favorite stores. To stay on budget I started going to estate sales with my three brothers to search for gems hidden in the dirt. Our routine was of walking around garage sales and auctions on the weekend, and buy a variety of furniture, both new and old made. It was my job to spend the day on the drive painting or sanding. It was a bit like it... This is when my interest in restoration of furniture started. I continued to work on furniture even after we had decorated our house. I had a stand on the local market, and also sold items there. Eventually I had more pieces that I had no idea what to do with and outgrew the area. In my own home, I would host open houses, where over 1,000 people were able to come in and purchase any product they wanted on the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days was created in this home. The business I was running was growing however my family was growing too. Being a new mom I was able to find the perfect way to be able to begin my own business as well as being a decent mother. Growing Days just fit. The year was 2013, and my lovely daughter Nora was born. She is our fourth child. My business was going well however I needed a break. I got away from the old furniture in order to spend the time I needed with my kids. That was precisely what I was looking for. The phone rang again after a while. A lot of people contacted me for help on home improvement and decorating. The majority of people who contacted me were from those who attended one of the furniture open house events. The time flew by before I was managing a full-scale house renovation business. It began with taking clients one by one at a pace that I felt comfortable with. You would probably have amused me if I had told you that this was going to be the subject of a DIY Network tv series. In the present, as I look back on this situation, I find myself laughing.
